**About the role**
We are looking for an experienced data engineer to work with the global team of our major technology client. This role sits at the crossroads of various disciplines, from web analytics, to paid media data, social data and consumer surveys. We don’t expectyou to be a deep expert in each of these areas, but are looking for talent that can comfortably switch across some of these areas and thrive working with both qual and quantitative data. The majority of your time will be spent being a hands-on technical leaderof key insight and analytics projects. You’ll help the Analytics Director to develop data solutions to solve clients current business questions and needs.

**What you can bring to the party, the experience and skillset we are looking for**:

- You will be an experienced Data Engineer with Google Bigquery (5 years preferred) and GCP experience, and a professional that demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of data modeling, data visualization and reporting. Be Prepared to work in anagile environment. You will spend time designing conceptual, logical and physical data models to support new reporting and data analysis. At the same you are able to uphold the data quality and assurance standards.
- Experience with programming languages eg Python, C++, Spark
- Ultimately we need someone who is able to understand business questions and work to understand requirements, then design, deploy, test, and deploy data pipelines, as well as help architect the core data ecosystem for Analysts.
- You’ll be someone who’s interested to dig deep into data to uncover the why and can tie multiple (both quant and qual) data points together to form original insights. A fascination for business, technology and culture is also a super head start.
- We need someone who is not a jargon monkey and who can articulate observations and data in simple and precise ways.
- We tend to be drawn to people who aren’t cookie cutter, who have an interesting edge about them. We like a little flavour and character in the team. We all learn from each other and would love to equally learn from you.
- You write fluent SQL including complex queries and queries optimized for performance.
- Understanding of digital marketing ecosystems and tools like Google Marketing Platform, GA360, Google Ads, Adobe Suite etc would be a strong asset.
- Technical understanding of a range of marketing concepts such as cookie-based data collection, setting and leveraging audience segments, attribution modeling, A/B testing, knowledge of marketing KPIs and their calculation will be a strong asset.
- 1+ years of experience building interactive dashboards using at least 1 data visualization tool such as Data Studio.
- 5+ Design and develop ETL workflows for serving data to the dashboards as needed.
- 5+ years Write complex SQL queries with multiple joins to automate and manipulate data extracts.
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns from historical data, generate and test hypotheses, and provide product owners with actionable insights.
- Participate in end to end analytical system design when needed, including end to end ETL, reporting and visualization workflows, ML pipelines (continuous training, continuous serving) and data modeling as required.
- Design testing process, create and execute test cases for advanced analytical workflows.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues and defects.
