We are seeking a DCIM (BMS) Specialist Engineer to lead on DCIM design for our Major Builds. You will report to the Head of DCIM (which includes BMS, Security and Commissioning), part of the Design and Engineering Team of the Major Builds Delivery Team inColt DCS.

You will play a leading role in overseeing DCIM & BMS design activities (in line with programme constraints), managing external consultants and contractors to meet programme, design and other requirements for the successful delivery of the project and toachieve cost effective and resilient infrastructures.

You will be responsible for design of DCIM at Colt DCS future data centres. You will review and approve the DCIM architecture and design for new major builds, while ensuring that it is aligned with the Colt DCS global standards. Your technical expertiseand years of experience in the mission-critical data centre industry will enable you to provide leadership and technical guidance and allow you to gain the confidence of Colt DCS’ customers.

Your main activities as DCIM Design Specialist will be:

- Ensuring DCIM Systems are effectively and efficiently designed to protect the data centre, capture power usage, calculate available capacity, and provide meaningful, timely alarms, notifications, and reports to end users.
- Support the Colt DCS Design Manager and Project Manager in their roles when requested, to monitor and drive updates of design trackers, project programmes, risk registers and cost reviews meetings
- Ensuring that DCIM/BMS are effectively and efficiently designed by the DCIM team and transitioned into operations to protect the data centre, capture power usage, calculate available capacity, and provide meaningful, timely alarms, notifications, and reportsto end users.
- Identifying suitable external consultants and contractors and to assist in the preparation of their contracts. You will play a leading role in the delivery of the BMS design, managing external engineering consultants and contractors to meet programme, designand other requirements for the successful delivery of the project and to achieve cost effective and resilient infrastructures.
- Interfacing with your peers across Colt DCS so that a global BMS standard can be maintained
- Working closely with customers to understand their DCIM requirements and with Colt DCS Sales to make proposals for new services.
- Managing complex discussions with General Contractors, driving and representing the Colt DCS position (technical, commercial and delivery)

**Qualifications**:

- Formal Qualification in Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Controls or Software Engineering
- Extensive experience in a mission-critical industry
- Working knowledge of various BMS and EPMS inc, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Hitachi
- Experience with configuring and operating SQL database systems.
- Experience of IT network design and commissioning
- Experience of customer focussed design of BMS and DCIM systems
- Experience performing commissioning, qualification & change control activities related to BMS including but not limited to UPS, HV, Generator, HVAC, chiller plants, domestic and process water systems, building automation systems, etc.
- Experience with BAC-net, Modbus, TCP/IP configuration, SNMP communication protocols, Active Directory security and Microsoft Office tools.

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- Experienced Data Scientist and working experience with Niagara, FNT, JSON, MQTT and OBIX.
- Understanding and knowledge of other engineering disciplines such as MEP and Structures/Civils.
- Experienced in ASHRAE Testing and Commissioning Levels and Commissioning Planning of mission critical systems.
- Recent Data Centre design experience.
- Strong time management skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate initiative.
- Must have the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Must be able to operate in an open management style and structure with an emphasis on team working and within a global matrix
- Delivery of large capital expenditure projects with a high dependence on MEP.
