**Head of Retail Job Description**

**Reporting to** - Sales & Marketing Director

**General Responsibilities** - Solely responsible for all Exeter Rugby Clubs retail operations, from forecasting and concept through to customer sales and everything in between.

**Job Specification**:
The main duties & responsibilities of the job holder are;
1. Financial Management
- Set Annual Budget Plan and Plan weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasts
- End to end responsibility for the Retail P&L, ensuring over delivery against budgets/targets and proposing actions as required.
- Business case creation to ensure E-Commerce receives the investment needed to drive growth and opportunity.
- Responsible for monitoring and analysing the overall E-Commerce Shop and Match Day sales performance, site performance, conversion rates and traffic.
- Input to the club, when conducting contract negotiations for suppliers.

2. Strategy & Sales Development
- Devise and lead Product, Trading, UX and Product Content strategies for both E-commerce and Club store
- Responsible for creating, building, analysing, and reviewing Store & E-commerce strategy and annual business plans

3. People Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop the team to achieve their full potential, taking responsibility for their personal development & succession planning
- Manage internal relationships across Marketing, Digital, IT and Finance
- Develop strong relationships with Suppliers, Directors and Supporters

4. Trading and User Experience
- Responsible for the introduction and development of all Retail E-Commerce selling channels and all 3rd party E-commerce partners
- Oversee the development of the market specific seasonal business plans to achieve short and long-term growth
- Analyse the customer journey/UX and identify opportunities to define the conversation rate optimisation road map

5. Product Management
- Lead on the innovation and end-to-end launch of all retail merchandise. That may be main kit supplier down to smaller suppliers only used occasionally.
- Ensure the production of roadmap features, into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, a
- Onboarding and managing all third-party relationships such as E-Commerce platform, Epos system, system integrators, infrastructure partners, and shortly other marketplaces

6. Content and Marketing
- Implement and monitor retail guidelines both instore and on-line to ensure a high standard is always maintained.
- Develop a visual merchandising programme, ensuring that the website E-Commerce stores and marketplaces are presented and merchandised to a high standard to maximise sales.
- Develop country specific marketing plans in conjunction with retail partners and in-house Marketing colleagues.

**Person Specification**:
The job holder must;
- Have at least 2 year’ experience in a management position within the retail industry
- Have Buying and Merchandising experience
- Have Ecommerce experience
- Be professional and well presented.
- Be able to manage staff and communicate well.
- Be able to prioritise duties and work to deadlines
- Be able to work unsupervised, using own initiative constantly.
- Be confident, patient, friendly, reliable & self-motivated.
- Have their own form of transport.

This role is part-time (24 hours per week) and will require working some match-day’s

The starting salary will be c £36 - £40K (pro rata’d) depending on qualifications and experience.
