**We want you to be**:
Responsible for handling from cradle to grave a portfolio of commercial claims - this includes investigating, reserving and negotiating settlement of Commercial claims across a range of areas including premises, loss of revenue, EL, PL and contents includingboth litigated and non-litigated claims.
**We’ll need you to be able to**:
Build policyholder confidence by developing rapport through effective communication.
Validate each claim against policy coverage.
Take a methodical approach to each claim and working through the processes with each policyholder
Request and gather documents and information from customers such as receipts, photographs or accident reports and storing them on the claim file.
Arrange for payment to be made within authority levels.
Manage a portfolio of claims through prioritising by individual circumstances from set up to settlement.
Liaise between internal teams, third party suppliers and policy holders, ensuring that all are updated to ensure the smooth and timely progression of claims.
Perform basic fraud checks and escalating any fraud alerts or suspicious circumstances to the Counter Fraud team.
Manage multiple activities by prioritising important and urgent tasks whilst maintaining the focus on the policyholder.
Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge and to keep abreast of market and legal updates
Maintain resilience and composure to remain positive under pressure and in changing circumstances
Demonstrate a desire to take ownership of your work and maintain excellent attention to detail
Constantly seek and communicate improvements in how we deliver excellent customer service.
Undertake any individual or team task in line with the company values
Ensure a relevant level of technical understanding with continuous development and learning.
**We’re Looking for**:

Experience / knowledge
Minimum 2 years’ experience of commercial claims
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable and confident negotiator
Time management and organisation skills
The ability to manage their time effectively and demonstrate great attention to detail
Be capable of assessing evidence and making strong commercial decisions
Have a proven track record in dealing with liability disputes.
A good knowledge of indemnity, liability and quantum issues will also be useful
**Qualifications**:
Secondary education with qualifications in Maths and English, or demonstrable ability in numeracy skills & written English.
