We are currently seeking a proactive and highly motivated colleague to line manage the Health and Safety Adviser team of NHS Ayrshire & Arran; and lead the delivery of key organisational objectives with the aim of reducing risks to safety, health and wellbeing, and augmenting our compliance with statutory duty.

You will have highly developed specialist knowledge of health and safety, acquired through course graduation at Masters level or equivalent, or have sound evidence of prior experience and learning at this level. NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent qualification) is essential for this role, as is Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health at Graduate level as a minimum. You should also have a recognised management qualification to Diploma level.

As this role will also develop and oversee the implementation of ergonomic and human factors principles across all focused work programmes, delivering educational support on this to the organisation, Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, or demonstrable evidence of experiential learning is required.

You should have substantive experience of developing and monitoring the implementation of Occupational Health, Safety and Risk Management strategies in a complex organisation, ideally within the health and care sector. This will include delivery of a range of relevant training to multi-disciplinary groups, and leading adverse event review groups.

You must be digital/IT literate and competent in the use of the suite of Microsoft Office packages.

A car owner/driver is also essential as this post serves the entire NHS Ayrshire & Arran geographical area.
