Aftersales Prep Controller

Our Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Melksham is looking for a Prep Controller to take charge of the stock vehicles, maximising utilisation and efficiency.

This role works alongside the aftersales and sales functions to balance the workload of incoming stock which needs to be prepared for sale in a timely manner, while taking into account the capacity of the workshop with regards to customers’ vehicle repairs.

If you have experience of working in a busy aftersales department the automotive industry, we can provide excellent training to develop your skillset for this unique role.

Key responsibilities:

- Assess technical or bodywork requirements on each vehicle acquired for stock.
- Communicate effectively and give accurate technical information to the workshop or bodyshop.
- Oversee cars through the process of being prepared, worked on and photographed to agreed Jaguar Land Rover timescales and standards.
- Take ownership of the Preparation process and know what stage each vehicle is at any given time.
- Understand the margins involved in preparing a car for sale and identify opportunities to upsell work to the workshop as required.
- Communicate with Sales Managers and Workshop Controller to ensure the stock vehicles are able to be advertised for sale on the website in a timely manner when work is complete.
- Build effective relationships and direct the workshop team on stock preparation, while taking into account the needs of current Service customers.

Essential Qualifications:

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Kerridge
- Technical knowledge would be advantageous but not essential
- Full UK Driving Licence
