**Pay**: £10.42 hour

**Base**: Morecambe Queen Victoria Centre

**Hours**: _**Bank Contract OR Option to arrange permanent shift pattern discuss at interview.**_ *Weeknights 5.30pm-9.30pm*

We are commissioned by NHS England to provide NHS Urgent Dental Care Services to patients across Lancashire from four locations. We currently have services operating in Blackpool and Morecambe and we have recently been successful in expanding this service into Blackburn and Burnley. The Services operate out of hours, evenings, weekends & bank holidays 365 days per year.

We see patients who are in need of urgent and emergency dental care, from toothache to serious Injuries.

**Main duties of the job**

We are looking for a looking for a fun, caring and compassionate and professional individual to join our team. The role of the receptionists is extremely important, first face the patients is greeted by and to ensure smooth running of a busy clinic.

You will work as part of a team and for the team to work at their best everyone must play a part, supporting each other is essential to us.

**Job responsibilities**

**About the Role**:
This role requires a confident person who is able to manage a clinic when time keeping can be difficult due to anxious patients and unexpected emergencies. The service aims to provide patients with treatment to relieve them of pain, swellings, and the management of Injuries/Traumas. Caring and compassionate personality is something that is extremely important to us. We ask ourselves how we would want our own family members to be treated.

Greeting and booking patients in, using computerised dental system, and paper passed documentation.

Maintain and update patient records, processing information received accurately and concisely.

Customer service focused.

Be very aware of surroundings, a lot of our patients may feel anxious or could become unwell, it is essential that you are able to notice any changes and support patients as required.

Maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times. Knowledge of Information Governance is essential.

This role will encounter stressful situations, patients attending our clinic are usually in pain or may have been in an incident attending with injuries. Being able to work effectively under pressure in a calm and confident manner whilst remaining sensitive to the patients needs is essential.

To undertake any clerical work and any other reception/admin duties relevant to the role

To be responsible for cash handling and end of day banking procedures

To undertake all relevant training consistent with the requirements of the post

To be available to provide short notice cover if/when required

As a bank member of the team, you will be allocated a handful of regular shifts and to cover annual leave and sickness, this would suite someone who is looking for an extra income and is flexible with the shifts required.
