**Metadata and Discovery Coordinator**:
**Salary: Grade 5 (£24,285 - £27,929 p.a. depending upon experience)**

This role will be undertaken in a hybrid manner, with some work based on the university campus. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The Metadata and Discovery Team catalogues and ensures the discoverability of a wide range of material for the Library including print monographs, e-resources, subscribed content, research outputs and Special Collections material. Setting and managing access arrangements for e-resources is also the responsibility of the team. The team are involved in projects relating to internal and external initiatives ranging from cooperative cataloguing to developments in library linked data. This role offers the opportunity for involvement in all aspects of the team’s work, with day to day responsibility for the cataloguing and classification of material, checking metadata quality, ensuring accuracy across a range of databases, managing access to e-resources and responding to enquiries.

You’ll have experience of MARC21, RDA and AACR2, an understanding of classification principles and be familiar with working with electronic resources. You’ll need strong interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively with the wider team, other Library colleagues, library customers and external bodies, including suppliers. You’ll have a forward-thinking approach and be open to new experiences and challenges in metadata and discovery management.
