**What you’ll be doing: Te whakamahere**

The Trade Commissioner, UK & Ireland role is one of NZTE's most important roles globally, helping New Zealand companies grow in a dynamic and fast changing economy. You will be leading an experienced team of business development managers whose networks and knowledge are vital to achieving good outcomes for New Zealand companies.

You will provide in-market connections and advice that will enable customers to navigate the UK & Ireland market successfully and build the profile of New Zealand exports. You will play an important role in implementing NZTE's strategic priorities in UK & Ireland and across Europe. You will also work closely with a team of customer managers based in New Zealand and as one of our international leaders help to drive that collaboration and connection throughout the organisation.

As a dynamic networker and relationship builder who will thrive in this European hub, you will represent New Zealand at key business events and ensure successful delivery of many projects. You will host several ministers, NZTE customers, and tourism visitors into market and will work closely with our colleagues across NZTE and our NZ Inc partners from Tourism NZ and MFAT.

**What you’ll need to be successful: Ō Pūkenga**

We are looking for a highly commercial person who is passionate about growing New Zealand businesses. In previous roles you will have been responsible for business development, marketing, sales, or strategy and have an understanding and interest to learn more about the fast-paced commercial environment of UK and Ireland.

You will need to be comfortable having strategic conversations with companies right up to board level, providing them with insights to ensure customer understanding of the local complexities. You will have exceptional relationship and influencing skills and be a confident and credible communicator. You will have people leadership strength and be well versed in leading talented and diverse teams across a variety of offices, cultures, and flexible working arrangements.

You will have a positive mindset that enjoys problem solving and dealing with the unknown and you will be dedicated and motivated by delivering ambitious outcomes for you and your team.
