The National Education Union is a force for change in the world of education, bringing together more than 450,000 teachers, lecturers, support staff and leaders working in maintained and independent schools and colleges across the UK.

We are now seeking to recruit a Senior Wales Officer (Lay Support and Bargaining) in the NEU Cymru Office in Cardiff. The Senior Wales Officer will be a dynamic manager, with experience in organising members, reps and activists to deliver the unions objectives.

The postholder will be required to support our lay structure in recruitment, bargaining, representation, equalities and organising work. Experience of conducting successful negotiations on behalf of members individually and collectively, as well as planning and delivering the unions national training programme are essential. An understanding of the education systems in Wales is desirable.

In addition to salary, we offer good conditions including a non-superannuable luncheon allowance currently set at £1188, 7 weeks’ annual leave plus Christmas closure days and a defined benefit pension scheme. Salary and benefits are pro-rata for part-time applicants.
