We have a major opportunity for an Associate Director of Enterprise Solutions to establish and lead a new unit within the Wellcome Sanger Institute, developing and supporting all the enterprise systems required to run a world-class institution.

About the role:
Reporting to the CIO, this senior role is responsible for setting the strategic direction for our critical enterprise IT, especially include migration towards cloud and SaaS (software-as-a-service solutions) where appropriate. We have a significant change agenda ahead, with some major and critical systems transformations being planned.

You will have key responsibility for managing customer/stakeholder/supplier relationships, including with other Wellcome-related organisations our rapidly growing campus.

You will be responsible for managing a team of approximately 35 members of staff plus a number of contractors and supplier teams. The Associate Director of Enterprise Solutions will play a full role as a member of the ICT senior management team.

Essential Skills
- Experience of managing large scale enterprise IT estates
- Knowledge and experience of enterprise IT technologies, including on-prem and SaaS
support
- Experience of delivering large enterprise solutions
- A proven track record in developing and implementing successful strategies and roadmaps
Familiarity with agile, devops and product-oriented delivery principles
- Able to communicate and influence at all levels, including board members, in a complex
stakeholder landscape
- Able to energise individuals, forming and leading high-performing teams
- Excellent strategic thinking: able to lead on the development and delivery of organisation
- wide strategies and technology roadmaps
- Able to lead organisations through change and transformation
