**Description**:
Prince Personnel are working with our well-established client to recruit for a Finance Assistant on a 3-month temporary basis. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role will deliver the transactional support for the Finance Department. The Finance Assistant will also work closely with all members of the finance team and be responsible for timely delivery of the transactional financial information of the sales and purchase ledgers as well as monthly payroll and pensions.

**Duties**:

- Timely and accurately processing Purchase ledger invoices for both trade and contractor creditors, ensuring payment terms are adhered to
- Day to day administration of the Purchase Order Process system including monthly reconciliations of outstanding PO's and follow up queries with Budget managers and administrators
- Throughout the month, update the accruals and prepayments registers ready for input to the finance system
- Prepare the monthly VAT journal for approval
- Timely and accurate reconciliation of creditor statements and liaising with internal and external staff to resolve discrepancies, supplier payment runs and aged debtor and creditors in accordance with the management accounts timetable
- Liaise with budget managers to ensure suppliers are efficiently and accurately maintained
- Process sales invoices (contract and ad-hoc) to a strict timetable and in line with contractual terms
- Monitor and chase aged debtors ensuring the aged debtors are within contractual terms
- Prepare relevant transactional information for the management accounts process
- Carryout relevant balance sheet control account reconciliations as part of the management accounts process
- Administer and collate the data for the monthly payroll processing, including downloads of hours worked, sense check and follow up on queries with the relevant managers and administrators, deal with all pension queries for employed staff and contractors, carryout monthly reconciliations of the pension contributions following up on any queries to a satisfactory conclusion
- Provide relevant support to the annual audit process
- Prepare and document departmental workflow processes for the finance process hub/library
- Maintain high standards of financial control, processes and systems
- Ad-hoc project work to support the Finance and Management Accountants
- Create good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Any other duty commensurate with the role and salary.
