Radiology Lead Practice Educator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a enthusiastic Radiographer to join East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust as Lead Practice Educator for Radiology.
The post holder will be responsible for the management of the clinical training of Undergraduate Radiographers, Trainee Assistant Practitioners and Apprentices whilst in the Radiology departments at ELHT, working in collaboration with the associated educational establishments and professional bodies.
To be responsible for the development, education and training of Student Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and Apprentices.
- Develop an innovative approach to clinical education working with education providers in developing/evolving programmes to meet the needs of the service and the changing inter-professional educational landscape.
- To establish and maintain a comprehensive programme of professional practice teaching within the clinical practice sites, in accordance with current practice and university/college learning outcomes.
- Undertake regular practical and theoretical training with students, evaluating and making the most efficient use of all the medical imaging clinical education resources within the trust.
- Organisation of clinical rotas in association with the appropriate departmental managers to ensure integration with academic study and the inclusion of tutorial work.
- To co-ordinate and supervise the training of students including visits to other clinical departments and for elective placements.
- Participation in the student professional practice assessment scheme, both in the clinical learning environment and at the university.
- Plan own workload ensuring all roles are undertaken in the appropriate timescale.
- Participate in the seven day out of hours and extended day working initiatives as required.
