**Job Description for Deputy Practitioner**
**Reports to: Wrap Care & Holiday Manager**
**Main responsibilities**:
To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged from birth to 5 years, in line with Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.
To help ensure that the setting is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
To develop effective partnerships with parents and to increase their involvement in their child’s development
To take on the role of SENCo
To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Wrap care & Holiday Manager.
To deputise for the Wrap care & Holiday Manager as and when required.
To collaborate and liaise with colleagues working in the Federation’s Nursery School as required.
**Main activities**:
- To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.
- To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
- To undertake designated roles as directed, including the SENCo role.
- To work with parents and other professionals for the benefit of children and parents.
- To help ensure the setting meets Ofsted requirements at all times.
- To work with other professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families.
- To understand and work to Federation policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
- To plan activities which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes.
- To fulfil effectively the role of key person.
- To ensure records are maintained, as directed by the Wrap care & Holiday Manager, sufficient to inform progress against Early Learning Goals e.g. Observations, assessments, daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments
- Ensure all relevant information is shared with the Federation’s Nursery School, as required, to ensure the smooth running of both provisions
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with the Federation aims and objectives in liaison the Wrap care & Holiday Manager.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 32 - 40 per week
**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person
