Longsands Academy is an 11-18 fully inclusive secondary school serving the community of St Neots and the surrounding area. The academy has around 1750 students including 250 in the Sixth Form. Longsands is proud of its inclusive and aspirational approach, whether that is in supporting students preparing for Oxbridge or working with students with special educational needs. We currently have a vacancy for a Site Officer. Providing an essential service, you will work as part of a team carrying out a full range of caretaking and maintenance activities, including general repairs to property, site cleanliness, fixtures and fittings and setting up for assemblies, exams, detentions and events.
The role holder will have responsibility for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all.
You will be required to undertake routine inspections to identify any issues, lock and unlock buildings and be required to direct contractors on site carrying out work. Records of contractors and permits to work will need to be completed by the site officer on duty.
There is also a requirement to cover the lettings for sports clubs and other bookings.
The successful applicant must be hardworking, enthusiastic and trustworthy, with practical experience in general maintenance; be able to work well as part of a team and have a proactive approach to work.
The role is for 37 hours per week with an hour in unpaid breaks each day.
Shifts may need to be adjusted to cover sickness or absence of others, and this includes weekends.
Flexibility of these shift patterns is required in order to suit the schools needs and training days throughout the school year.
