We have developed a new generation of sensing technology that uses nanopores - nano-scale holes - embedded in high-tech electronics, to perform comprehensive molecular analyses.

Our first products sequence DNA and RNA. We offer the only sequencing technology to combine scalability from portable to ultra-high throughput formats with real-time data delivery and the ability to elucidate accurate, rich biological data through the analysisof short to ultra-long fragments of native DNA or RNA. The sensing platform has the potential to be adapted for the analysis of other types of molecules, for example proteins.

**Overview**:
You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete a Level 4 Cyber Security Risk Analyst Apprenticeship.

The InfoSec Analyst performs governance, risk and compliance (GRC) functions, and delivers training and awareness under the guidance of the InfoSec and Cyber Resilience Manager, in order to proactively protect ONT and its information.

**Main responsibilities: [include, but are not limited to:]**

**Triage and manage InfoSec incidents**:

- Website and DNS requests
- Malware and attacker behaviour detections
- Cloud and USB data loss protection alerts
- Bespoke user and IT requests, and ad-hoc alerts

**Maintain security operations vigilance**:

- Data loss
- Cloud secure configuration
- Vulnerability management
- Threat intelligence
- Analyse trends for high-risk activities such as web visits and blocks and escalate any repeated attempts to access known dangerous sites.
- Review alerts and trends for security blocks/malware blocks/phishing blocks/command & control blocks/crypto-mining blocks
- Check malware detections and action
- Check SIEM alerts. Analyse and action those that appear to not be false alarms

**Other duties will include**:

- Develop workflows to orchestrate and automate repeatable, enrichment and containment tasks
- Administer and deliver training and awareness activities, from delivering the messaging campaign and exploiting the training and awareness platform
- Collate metrics, and develop and maintain dashboard and reporting that demonstrate InfoSec trends at ONT
- Work alongside IT Support to ensure vulnerabilities and risks are managed and controls applied in accordance with the InfoSec policies and standards
- Develop processes and playbooks for the standardised and repeatable management of incidents, risk and staff awareness

**Entry requirements**:
**The entry requirements for this programme are as follows**:

- an A Level in ICT
- OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT
- OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)

**Working week**:
40hrs a week.

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5.30pm.

**Salary**:
£21,000 per annum.
