The Clinical Site Co-ordinator will ensure patient safety as part of the Hospital at Night team by providing clinical support to all areas of the hospital during the night. The Clinical Site Co-ordinator will help with the assessment of deteriorating patients and will perform appropriate interventions to maintain / improve the welfare of patients within the hospital.

To ensure that patients are assessed in a timely manner by the appropriate practitioner. The clinical Site Co-ordinator will utilise ALS skills as part of the emergency response team including medical assistance and cardiac arrests.

- Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
- Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team.
- A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the Rugby Hospital at Night team to ensure patient and site safety at all times throughout the night.
- Responsible for clinical assessment of patients and provision of advanced nursing interventions to maintain and improve the health and welfare of patients in all areas of the hospital.
- To ensure safe staffing levels across the trust by acting on any shortages or acute sickness, deal with complaints, managing incidents for example fire alarm activation or security issues. Out of hours pharmacy dispensing, and any other hospital bleep responsibilities as appropriate.
- Organisation of cross-departmental/organisational needs including supervision and aiding medical teams.
- Demonstrate practical skills to ensure optimum patient management including; complex patient monitoring; equipment management and frequent administration of invasive tests/procedures.
- Capacity and flow management as per standard work document, escalating to the clinical site manager at University Hospital as required.
- Develop and educate staff, participating in supervision, mentorship and appraisal as required.
- Utilise and ensure others utilise IT systems to secure accurate and timely patient, workforce and resource data is available. This includes Wardview and Safecare.
- Manage expected and unexpected clinical events requiring varying levels of physical effort according to patient dependency/clinical need
- Support patients, carers and others during difficult situations arising in the clinical area, e.g. imparting bad news or following an unexpected event.
- Promote and monitor adherence to Health and Safety and Trust policy designed to protect healthcare staff and service users from known hazards.
- Maintain a clean, safe environment ensuring adherence to Trust standards of cleanliness, hygiene and infection control at all times. Escalating any issues
- Attend all emergencies and provide senior leadership and support if such events occur.
- Manage escalations from ward and act as a resource for all staff.
