Head of Business Management Information (BMI)
- The role is responsible for leading the MS ABS Business Management Information (BMI) function in London and Chelmsford. This will involve working with senior stakeholders across MS ABS and the legal entities to build a best in class function capable of delivering enhanced BI capabilities to the legal entities, enabling improved business performance across all areas of the insurance value chain.
- Reporting into the MS ABS Chief Data & Analytics Office, the role holder will support and drive the BI agenda across MS Amlin and also the broader MS&AD group.

While there is rarely a ‘typical’ day within this role, here’s a snapshot of some of the key parts of the job:

- The primary focus of the role is to develop the strategy, capabilities and operating model for ABS BMI to enable the delivery of enhanced business intelligence to support the legal entities ambitions of improving operational performance and profitability. You will build and maintain strong relationships with leaders and key stakeholders across the businesses as well as developing the technical expertise of the existing BMI resources to build an industry-leading, high performing and collaborative team.

- What you’ll need:

- For this particular role there are some important qualifications and experience we need you to have. These include:

- Substantial experience in leading Business Intelligence functions in the Commercial insurance/reinsurance industry
- Has experience developing data, BI and team strategy, planning technology and product roadmaps, managing budgets and external partners, and building awareness of the BI agenda internally and externally
- Strong knowledge of the Commercial Insurance market
- A credible, commercial, action-oriented professional, who can work independently at a senior level to credibly engage key business leaders
- Have the ability to deal with complex technical concepts and the ability to successfully translate their ideas to executive and nontechnical audiences, achieving delivery of key strategic outcomes

- Key Accountabilities:

- An overall summary of the role:

- _ Design and implement _a BI strategy and Operating model to enable the function to deliver enhanced BI to support the businesses_
- _ Operate as a strategic partner _to senior stakeholders across the business by delivering trusted, insightful, accurate and timely BI_
- _ Lead _a team of 15 BI professionals to deliver a best in class service offering to our clients_
- _ Enhance the control framework_ _throughout the entire BI process to ensure the rigour, accuracy and veracity of the data assets_
- _ Develop _trusted data sets to drive consolidation of reporting platforms and tools and simplify the reporting landscape_
