Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our nursery.

**Purpose of Role**

To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care and education for children in the nursery. To enable children to feel secure, valued and respected and to approach learning with confidence and high self-esteem.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Support the Nursery Lead to develop and maintain an attractive and positive educational play environment for young children.
- Ensure nursery room runs smoothly and the routine of the day is adhered to.
- To act as a keyworker, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child receives individual consideration to promote their intellectual, physical, social and emotional developmental needs in a secure and stimulating environment.
- Develop the individual child’s learning by offering an appropriate level of support, stimulation and security.
- Assist in setting out resources and/or activities on a daily basis to encourage development and learning.
- Ensure you maintain the safety of the children in your care at all times.
- Have a flexible approach with the ability to work with the different age ranges of children.
- Advise the Manager/Deputy of any actual or potential problem relating to the safety or care of the children.
- Assist in the preparation of snacks for the children in the morning or afternoon and interact with children at meal times.

The post holder must at all times carry out his/her responsibilities with due regard to child protection.
- To provide support to other staff within the nursery.

**Knowledge and Experience**
- Empathy and understanding of children under five
- Experience of supervising children
- Knowledge of current legislation and guidance
- Hold a full and relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare and education
- Paediatric first aid trained
- Able to plan and provide age-appropriate activities
- Can support and has experience with developing other team members
- Experience of working within a childcare setting
- Knowledge of current legislation and guidance

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £12.59 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
