**Polypipe Building Products** are focused on delivering solutions to the residential sector. Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products.

**Role**:As Sales Director, you will take overall accountability for leading the sales strategy in the UK for Polypipe Building Products, part of the Sustainable Building Solutions Business Unit, delivering profitable growth through the deployment of best practice processes, aligned to Building Products strategic initiatives through motivated, customer and project focused teams.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the role will be instrumental in developing and contributing on profitable strategic growth plans, tactics, and action plans through continuously developing, motivating and supporting the sales team. The role will be pivotal in coordinating key customer interactions, internal sales, marketing, product and technical teams.

Head office is in Doncaster, however, the role will require travel throughout the UK, interaction with other Sales Directors within the Sustainable Building Solutions (SBS) Business Unit and the SBS Commercial Director.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leading the management of external UK sales team to create a high performing team that own and hit/exceed annual sales targets within assigned territoryand accounts.
- Ensure excellent technical service and after sales service is practiced and administered by the external team in collaboration with internal teams.
- Working within the Building Products senior leadership team to develop and implement the business strategy and rolling business plan.
- Collation of market feedback to identify trends and new product development opportunities.
- Identification of new markets and development of strategies to access and support emerging businesses.
- Serving as a business representative at major industry events, conferences, trade shows, and expositions.
- Create partnerships with customers to understand their business needs and objectives, and effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
- Provide visible and passionate leadership to the external UK sales teams to foster a performance-based culture focused on structural deployment of modern sales enablement techniques and ongoing sales coaching to hit/exceed annual sales targets.
- Owning the Building Products sales strategy, accurately forecasting future sales and forming sales plans to adapt to constant shifts in the marketplace. Own the forecasting for the S&OP process.
- Identify and implement opportunities and processes to drive the level of package & cross selling of wider solutions to common customers both from SBS and other group business units.
- Working within the Building Products senior leadership team to develop and implement the Building Products business strategy and rolling business plan.
- Ensure internal business communication processes are structured, regular, and two-way. Build in sufficient transparency, rigour, and interest so that business communications become a key tool to drive engagement, loyalty, and performance.
- Ensure that safety, ethical and behavioural standards are at the forefront of everything we do leading by example, visible presence in the business and customer facilities and integrating these elements into communications and process review.
- Ensure excellent technical service & after sales service is practiced and administered by the External team in collaboration with Internal teams whilst creating a customer centric culture.
- Personal responsibility for the profitability of the Building Products sales through close management of distribution trading agreements, key contractor terms and partnership relationships.

**Requirements**:

- Qualifications in relevant discipline; Business, Commercial, Science, Engineering.
- Proven sales executive experience exceeding targets preferably within the construction sector.
- Preferable experience of working within a manufacturing business in a senior sales role.
- Proven leadership skills managing a sizeable external salesforce.

- Ability to communicate, present and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to analyse data and provide succinct solutions to presented trends.
- Excellent listening, negotiation, motivation, and presentation skills.

- Ability to drive a sales organisation utilising S&OP/IBP methodology.
- A full driving licence as travel to other sites is required.
