**Roar Outdoor SEND Lead Worker**
Our Alternative Learning Program is designed to provide young people with a unique learning experience outside of the traditional classroom environment. As an SEND Lead Worker, you will play a vital role in helping us achieve our mission to inspire, educate, and empower young people through outdoor adventures and activities.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Plan and deliver safe and engaging outdoor activities for young people in the Guilford area.
- Work closely with other SEND Lead Workers or assistants daily, within a growing team of 20.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, session planning, and reviewing the child's progress towards goals set out in their EHCP.
- Plan and develop 6-week activity programs aligned with the program's learning objectives, including AQA awards and EHCP outcomes.
- Monitor and assess AQA unit awards progress for each young person.
- Write termly and half-termly reports on the progress of each young person.
- Build positive relationships with young people and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Complete daily site checks on areas working in the woodland environment and offsite programs.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained to a high standard and meets safety requirements.
**Requirements**:
- Experience working with young people, particularly those who face barriers to learning and/or SEND children and young people.
- Current Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Undergone safeguarding training and willing to do more.
- Able to work in the outdoors/woodlands all year round and in all weather conditions.
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging outdoor activities.
- Experience in First Aid.
- Valid driving license with use of a car and willing to use it for work purposes, including picking up and dropping off young people when required.
- Literate with a computer and phone, with good literacy skills for clear and detailed session plans, reviews, and incident reporting.
**Additional Beneficial Qualifications**:
- Current Outdoor First Aid (16h)
- Hold or be working towards at least one Level 2 course around SEND young people.
- Other Desirable qualifications: Forest Schools Practitioner, Sport coaching and leading qualifications such as MIAS, BEL, BCAB, CW, and other multisport qualifications such as racket sports and ball sports.

- A passion for outdoor education and a desire to inspire young people.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Confident, fun, and engaging.
- Empathetic and patient.
- Able to use own initiative when changes happen to programmes.
- Clear communication skills when working with high-need young people.
**The Role**:
- We are looking to fill both a full-time (5 days per week) and a part-time (2-3 days per week) position.
- Reporting to a Senior Management Team.
- Close support available from the SEND Program Manager and experienced SEND Lead Workers.
- Growing company with opportunities for advancement into management roles in line with company growth and employee performance.
- Workday typically from 8:45 - 15:30 with 45 minutes allocated for reviewing and planning, with some twilight training required.
**Salary**:
- Competitive, dependent on experience.
- Full-time: £16.60 per hour, £22,166 per annum (£28,000 pro rata).
- Part-time (2 days): £8,831.20 per annum (£28,000 pro rata).
- Part-time (3 days): £12,768 per annum (£28,000 pro rata).
- Monthly wage across 12 months.
