We are looking for an individual who demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills, with a passion for delivering high standards of care working in the heart of the community. You will work as part of a well-established team of therapists, assistants and multi-agency colleagues.

You will be supported by a team of Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapists and have the opportunity to be part of shaping and developing the service as well as providing supervision to junior colleagues.

The caseload will comprise of children with a range of Speech Language and Communication Needs, and there will be also be small number of children with complex needs.

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload within identified schools, providing assessment, intervention, advice and training as
required. An ability to develop strong working relationships with education staff is essential.

You will also be required to liaise closely with parents, education staff and other health professionals to ensure strategies and approaches can be
embedded both at home and in school.

The development of leadership skills in all posts is actively promoted within the Hywel Dda Speech and Language Therapy Service. We
encourage active engagement with local Professional Practice Groups (PPGs) and involvement with innovations in Speech and Language
Therapy at an All Wales/National level.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 12,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales. We do this in partnership with our three local authorities and public, private and third sector colleagues, including our volunteers, through:
**Four main hospitals**: Bronglais General in Aberystwyth, Glangwili General in Carmarthen, Prince Philip in Llanelli and Withybush General in Haverfordwest;
**Seven community hospitals**: Amman Valley and Llandovery in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron, Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire;
48 general practices (six of which are managed practices), 47 dental practices (including three orthodontic), 99 community pharmacies, 44 general ophthalmic practices (43 providing Eye Health Examination Wales and 34 low vision services) and 17 domiciliary only providers and 11 health centres;
Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

You will be providing a combination of specialist, targeted and universal provision to children and the teams supporting the children who have a
wide range of speech, language and communication needs.
