The role of procurement and contract management is to support the Council, and the wider public sector system in Oxfordshire, to deliver effective and consistent services and ensure that products and services purchased from suppliers represent value for money. **About the role**:
Your role will take responsibility for ensuring that these strategies and policies are aligned with the Council’s wider policy and governance and that they are supported by operational guidance to inform and coordinate a clear, consistent approach for Officers within the Procurement and Contract Management function as well as wider stakeholders.

**About you**:
You will be a key member of the Procurement and Contract Management Team, reporting to the Head of Category - Corporate and Commercial but working across all categories within the team. A procurement professional with at least 5 years experience in the public sector and CIPS or equivalent accreditation you will have excellent knowledge of public procurement legislation and policy, with good analytical and problem-solving skills.

The role will require joint working with other Council Directorates, Officers, Suppliers, Communities and other Partners, therefore being able to build working relationships and communicate effectively at all levels is essential.
