**Job Title**: Contracts Negotiator (Part-Time Optional)

**Company Overview**

1st Line Defence is the leading Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Risk Mitigation Company in the UK. We provide solutions to the risk posed across the UK and around the world, both on and offshore, from unexploded bombs and munitions related to current and formermilitary land use, aerial bombing and conflicts. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Contract Negotiator to join our fantastic team.

**Main Purpose of Job**:
This role presents an exciting and unique opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Contracts Negotiator to join a fresh, established and fast growing company. This rolewill sit within the Finance and Business Management Department and will primarily beresponsible for evaluatingcontractualagreements, negotiating terms with our clients and suppliers prior to the start of any contractual relationship and reviewingany queries or disputes that may arise. In addition this role will manage completion and submissionof PQQ’s in preparation to tender for work and to maintain our presence on existing client supply chains.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Record and track stages of review and status of all client and supplier contracts received into the business until final sign off has been obtained using CRM system and Approved Supplier Log.
- Full review and negotiation of client or supplier contracts with effective use of track changes and comments to ensure accurate audit trail.
- Ensure all approved Suppliers meet company policy requirements prior to approval.
- Communicating commercial and operational requirements of any contract to Project Consultants and Project Management team to ensure absolute awareness of the company’s contractual obligations.
- Electronically file all documentation relating to client contracts and approved suppliers contracts in a centralised Information Management System.
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders and clients to prepare and finalise contracts for services in accordance with Company policy and prepare documents for signature.
- Liaison with legal team for advice and escalation if required.
- Liaison with Insurance Broker in relation to coverage information and collateral warranty reviews where required.
- Reviewing and working with senior Management to resolve client or supplier disputes or complaints.
- Manage completion and submission of PQQ’s in preparation to tender for work and to maintain our presence on existing client supply chains.
- Record and track submission of PQQ’s and renew any that may expire each year.
- Carrying out audits and compliance of contracts.

**Key Qualifications and Skills**:

- Law Graduate essential
- Experience in the construction industry advantageous
- Attention to detail with a thorough and methodical approach
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient at proof-reading and touch-typing.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to be a good team-player.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
