**About us**

Avencia Consulting are working with a leading MGA, who are looking to hire a PQ Accountant to join their Croydon office. The company is a platform helping insurance teams to grow and has gained a reputation for best-in-class service to complex and specialtyinsurance businesses through our wrap-around set of support functions across executive management, consultancy, finance, compliance, and IT.

**The role**

This position is ideal for someone wanting to step up in insurance and finance operations with a company that will give you the opportunity to develop your career in the financial services sector. The business works with highly motivated niche insurance teams that deal in complicated and innovative transactions. As such the role throws up technical and reporting challenges that will instigate a deeper understanding of the insurance industry for theright individual.

**Key accountabilities**

**1. Financial Reporting**

1.1. Monthly Management Account production
- 1.1.1. Posting of general ledger journals
1.1.2. Production of key financial statements
1.1.3. Variance Analysis and commercial review
1.1.4. Interaction and presentation with management of business
1.2. Control Account reconciliations and presentation of key financial tables
1.3. Production of weekly finance reports to be shared both internally and to our external
clients
1.4. Banking reconciliation and treasury management
1.5. VATand Corporate Tax payments, alongside dividend and working capital loan
management
1.6. Statutory andyear end accounting

**2. Insurance and Underwriting Support**

2.1. Production of Bordereaux reports for a range of clients
2.2. Premium - trading report
2.3. Premium limit monitoring
2.4. Cash allocation
2.5. Technical data entry
2.6. Monthly performance report
2.7. Aged Debt reporting

**3. Governance**

3.1. Board pack production
3.2. Process documentation and review

4. Any other duties your line manager asks you to do relevant to the role/time.

**Skills & experience**

**Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience**
- Part Qualified with a minimum of 2 years' experience in an accountancy role
- Strong written and spoken communication skills to enable communication at all levels.
- Numerate and comfortable working with arithmetical procedures
- Ability to handle a varied workload and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical, research and reporting skills.
- Comfortable working with different software, especially Microsoft Excel.
