Romantica of Devon is a nationally and internationally recognised, family-owned and run, bridal apparel company with over 40 years of experience in the industry.

We are looking for a Sales Ledger Assistant/Credit Controller to work as part of our professional, yet relaxed office team based out of our head office just outside of Tiverton in Devon.

The role will report directly to the Operations Manager but will also work closely with the customer service, warehousing and purchasing teams, as well as senior management in the day-to-day activities of the role.

The main purpose of the role will be to work with the support of their line manager to handle the collection of monies and resolution of account queries, to ensure debtor days are kept to a minimum. It is vital that the Credit Controller builds and maintains close links with all customers, to ensure smooth running of accounts and encourage timely recovery of payments

**Key Duties**
- Managing and resolving queries with customers relating to their account
- Working closely with the sales and customer service teams to maintain an efficient credit control strategy
- Negotiating and maintaining payment plans
- Flagging accounts that require further action without delay
- Taking card payments via telephone
- Entry of customer receipts (daily banking)
- Customer Allocations and reconciliations
- Raising credit notes
- Maintenance of correct customer data within the SAGE system.
- Providing outstanding customer service

**Required Skills**:

- Proven credit control experience including an understanding of sales ledger accounting procedures (banking, allocations)
- Reconciliation experience
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- The ability to use Excel to work with and analyse data (filters, basic functions etc)
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written

You’ll be great in this role ifyou have excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail. You will be highly organised with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks. You will be a great team player who works well with others but who can also work under your own initiative.

**Salary**

A full time salary of up to £30,000 is being offered (dependent on experience)

Benefits include 28 days holiday per annum (to include bank holidays) plus an extra day's leave for your birthday each year.
