**About The Role**

Assistant Vice Principal at Stage Academy is an exciting and varied full time role. You will be the manager of a number of our class venues overseeing a team of teachers, you will teach at some of our classes to ensure you have a broad understanding of our students and curriculum. You will also be instrumental in day to day administrative and sales tasks that keep the school running smoothly. You will have the opportunity to direct and produce various live productions alongside the existing creative team. In the long run there are progression opportunities to Vice Principal and Principal roles. As Stage Academy is continually expanding, we are looking for passionate individuals who can see themselves building a long term career with us.

This role would be perfect for someone who loves teaching and working with children and is looking for a full time role that can give them more stability than freelance work and provide further opportunities for career progression.

**Responsibilities**
- Teaching performing arts at various Stage Academy classes.
- Venue Managing at various Stage Academy classes including; line managing teachers, acting as venue key holder, first aid, registers, interacting with parents, supporting teachers within their classes and any other reasonable task.
- Sales tasks including; attending summer/winter school fairs, facilitating workshops/assemblies about Stage Academy in partner schools, attending local events, flyer distribution, and any other reasonable task.
- Business support tasks including; facilitating up to two birthday parties per calendar month during working hours, facilitating up to 4 hours of 121 sessions per week during working hours, writing of curriculum materials, organising of costumes/set/props for performances, working backstage during performances, deputising for the head agent of Stage Agency during periods of absence and any other reasonable task.
- Deputising for the Vice Principal and/or Principal of Stage Academy during periods of absence.

**Locations and Working Patterns - Term Time**

Mondays: AM = OFF, PM = Teaching in N12

Tuesdays: AM = Work from home admin, PM = Teaching in NW11

Wednesdays: AM = Work from home admin, PM = Teaching in NW11

Thursdays: OFF

Fridays: AM = Work from Stage Academy HQ in Hertfordshire, PM = Venue Managing in NW6

Saturdays: Venue Managing in HA7

Sundays: Venue Managing in W12

**Locations and Working Patterns - during school holidays**

Monday to Friday 9.30am until 5.30pm: Working from home with one day per week working from Stage Academy HQ in Hertfordshire

**Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
- Enhanced DBS (including children’s barred list) on the Update Service _(or willingness and ability to get one)_
- At least 3 years of experience teaching children within a performing arts school setting
- Experience supervising small teams of people
- Access to a computer of your own
- Access to a phone of your own
- _**Driver with access to a car of your own and a full licence**_
- Ability to delegate tasks and provide clear instructions
- High standards of timekeeping and personal appearance are a must
- Ability to actively engage with children, parents and other staff members
- Organised and focused with a strong attention to detail
- Good command of written and spoken English
- A passion for working with young people
- A flexible approach with the ability to think on your feet in a fast paced environment

**Desirable Skills, Experience and Qualifications**
- Experience of fulfilling the Venue Manager role at an equivalent children’s performing arts school
- Chaperone Licence _(we can arrange this for you if needed, we also cover the cost of renewal)_
- Safeguarding Certificate _(we can arrange this for you if needed, we also cover the cost of renewal)_
- Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate _(we can arrange this for you if needed, we also cover the cost of renewal)_
- A teaching qualification
- Experience working with LAMDA exams
- Proven experience of working in a similar role
- Experience of using CRM and VOIP software
- Experience performing DBS and Reference checks on cover staff
