We are looking to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented **People Operations Specialist **to join our growing team at MANUAL. You will play a critical role in managing various aspects of HR to support our scaling operations in the UK and Brazil, and will report to our People Director within the People & Culture team made of a Recruitment Manager and an Office Manager, both based in London.

The main responsibilities of the role will be ensuring that our policies and processes focus on supporting and improving the employee experience across the entire lifecycle which goes from running data checks and ensuring all people records are up-to-date to answering queries, supporting new hires, advising managers and participating in or leading initiatives across the People and Culture team.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Employee Engagement:

- Develop, implement and manage employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive culture.
- Plan and coordinate team-building activities, events and recognition programmes.
- Gather feedback and conduct surveys to gauge employee satisfaction and make improvements.

**Benefits**:

- Input into and continuously improve our employee value proposition.
- Administer and drive engagement for our employee benefits programmes, including health and wellbeing, learning and other perks.
- Assist employees with benefit-related queries and issues.

Payroll:

- Manage the payroll process, including gathering inputs, working out calculations and deductions into our payroll system, Employment Hero and partnering with the Finance team on the processing part.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for all UK employees.
- Address payroll-related questions and discrepancies promptly.

Employee Relations:

- Ensure that MANUAL's people policies and procedures align with local laws.
- Stay up-to-date with UK employment laws, health & safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Handle audits and reporting as needed.
- Take charge of employee relation issues such as grievances, disciplinarieswith the support of the People Director.

HR Support:

- Assist with on-boarding and off-boarding processes, ensuring a smooth experience for employees.
- Lead on some of our employee life cycle activities, partnering closely with our People Director.
- Provide general administrative support, including managing HR documentation, contracts and records.
- Manage our HRIS, Employment Hero, to maintain accurate employee data.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field. Certifications in HR such as CIPD are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience as an HR Specialist, preferably in a high growth start-up or scale-up.
- High levels of proactivity, autonomy and ownership.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite as well as HR and Payroll softwares.
- In-depth knowledge of UK employment laws, regulations and compliance requirements.
