**The Role**

To be the face of Community Transport by providing a caring, supportive and safe transport service for people who experience mobility or other health issues. Drive Community Transport minibuses legally, safely and responsibly; taking either groups of passengers or individuals on a demand responsive basis, to and from different destinations. To operate all auxiliary equipment fitted to vehicles such as lifts, ramps, steps, radios, wheelchair harnesses and restraints and cab heaters, the removal and replacement of seating where necessary etc, in a safe and proper manner.

As a casual driver you will be required to work across all of our passenger services projects including transporting the elderly, community groups, vulnerable adults and children with special needs or disabilities to cover periods of holiday, sickness and high demand. **Essential skills / training;**
- Current driving licence with D1 entitlement (max. 3 points)
- Ability to respect client confidentiality
- Experience of driving minibuses/buses
- Motivated to work towards creating a safe, open and trusting environment
- Being prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the business including unsocial hours, such as weekends, mornings and evenings
- Satisfactory DBS enhanced disclosure check

**Desirable skills / training;**
- Current PCV licence and Driver CPC
- Experience of driving minibuses and/or larger vehicles
- Awareness of Child and Vulnerable Adult Protection Issues and the boundaries of professional relationships
- Registered with DBS update service
- Resilient and able to perform in a pressurised environment whilst acting as an influential team player
- Experience of cash handling
- £9.88 p/h rising to £11.56 p/h for specific contracts + 15.6% holiday pay
- Working within a fulfilling role with a great team atmosphere
- Comprehensive training in:

- All aspects of safe loading and driving vehicles
- Assessment and training to MiDAS standards
- Manual handling and First aid
- Awareness of safeguarding issues for children and vulnerable adults
- Emergency evacuation from a minibus
- Use of electronic information and routing systems (such as Ticketer/Mobisoft/Trapeze)
