This position reports into the** **Site MAM Lead** **and is based in **East London**, South Africa**.

**What You Will Do**
The Maintenance Supervisor leads and takes full responsibility to ensure effective maintenance of production equipment, process systems performance and reliability, In addition to the responsibilities below.
- Key Responsibilities
- Drive continuous Improvements on performance and reliability.
- Financial management of Maintenance costs.
- Support & Develop Technical Skills Competency.
- Supervise and Structure the Maintenance Technicians/ Artisans to strengthen 3 main maintenance functions o Reactive Maintenance (Manufacturing Support).
- Preventive Maintenance (Planned Maintenance).
- Proactive Maintenance (Reliability).
- Co-ordinate, control and coach the activities of the maintenance team in the Manufacturing area.
- To provide specialist technical advice to the team to ensure maximum equipment availability and reliability. Ensures EHS, GMP and Quality requirements are met in the area of responsibility.
- Implement and execute Good Engineering Practices (GEP) in order to support the delivery of the Production Plan and operational efficiency requirements.
- Actively participates in the identification and implementation of continuous improvements initiatives. Ensure wastages are minimized and Maintenance costs contained or improved.
- Execute Engineering Manufacturing related capital projects.
- Leads and manages personnel within the process/production engineering value stream, in line with the company's code of conduct and compliance requirements.
- Leads and delivers on actions related to regional optimization projects, in relation to validation requirements, compliance standards and user requirement specifications (JJPS, Maximo etc.) within the ELManufacturing value streams.
- Lead and drives Maintenance team to deliver the Regional Maintenance Roadmap for East London Plant with focus on
- Infrastructure Building, Stabilization and Sustainability.
- Supports root cause investigations in relation to inefficient processes, unplanned downtime and excessive waste, in line with equipment and implement corrective/preventative actions accordingly.
- Assess and optimize equipment and equipment related processes to ensure that they run efficiently, effectively and safely.
- Lead and support, where necessary, equipment supplier service level agreements and equipment vendor relations, in order to meet the departmental goals and requirements.
- Ensure that Engineering SOP's for Manufacturing value streams, are updated and accurate. Ensure the availability of the correct spares and change parts for equipment in the plant.
- Use CMMS to investigate improved optimization efficiencies I criticality of equipment/life expectancy of all equipment.
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are relevant and accurate and updated accordingly.
- Lead validation activities in terms of Equipment with respect to validation protocols, installation and operational qualification.
- Lead, support and drives continuous improvement and OEE initiatives. Ensure that EHS, QA and HR compliance requirements are complied with.
- Responsible in terms of OHS Act and regulations to ensure that all manufacturing equipment (new and existing) meet legal requirements and are maintained to these standards.
- Develop and manage the maintenance team by coaching team members, developing competencies of team members, conducting career discussions and setting individual goals.
- Lead and drive assigned Safety responsibilities to ensure the safety of people, process and systems are incompliance to local & Global J&J Requirements (e.g. lOSS I Machine guarding I WRAPS I Process Safety I LOTO I P2W etc.)
- Take ownership and responsibility of machinery in area of control.

- Trade tested, electrical will be advantageous.
- 5 years relevant experience in a leadership role.
- Maintenance management experience and skills.
