In our school, our learning support colleagues are exceptional colleagues. They are well qualified, receive high levels of training and in many ways are equivalent to our teachers. As a result, they are known as PEGs - Progress and Engagement Guides. The nearest traditional equivalent would be the HLTA role, but we see them as far more than this

Duties include:
- Delivering RWI phonics / Fresh Start sessions to groups of children. This is supported by our Phonics Leader.
- Teaching the whole class during the first three days of a teacher’s absence. Should this occur, planning will be provided by the partner teacher and you will be supported in class by your partner class PEG.
- The opportunity to acquire a specialism which can be used to support across the whole school. Current specialisms include dyslexia, autism, speech and language.
- In addition, the post holder will also undertake lunch-time supervisor duties.

We are looking for a colleague with a professional outlook who will help raise the aspiration of our pupils and so improve their learning outcomes.
