**Qualified Social Worker - Wigan Council, Greater Manchester - Children with Disabilities Team - £40ph**
We are looking for Social Workers to join us in the fabulous Children with Disability Team here in Wigan. We are looking for supportive and experienced Social Workers who can drive good practice and support less experienced members of the team and SocialWorkers who are newer to their career journey and developing their social work practice.. We would like you to have an interest or experience of working with children with disabilities and be willing to further develop her knowledge and expertise in this interestingarea of Social Work.
The CWD team in Wigan sits within our Locality Service. The team has 1 team manager, 1 advanced practitioner, 1 senior social worker, 5 social workers and 1 full time equivalent support worker. This structure allows for high support in team and clear optionsfor career progression from ASYE through to management. Our Service also includes: our 5 Locality Teams, 2 Social Work Academies and our Frontline Student Teams. This ensures we have wide ranging experience and support that each social worker and team managercan draw upon. We strongly believe that no one practices alone and wrap around support is crucial for your welfare, development and progression.
The nature of the work within the CWD Team is described as specialist, varied, interesting and busy, which means lots of opportunities to hold different complexity of cases where children have a disability or life limiting impact on their lives, but thiswill also include children in need, through to children in need of protection and those that need the consideration of the Courts. We receive families from our Front door (the Children's First Partnership Hub) This allows social workers to develop anotherarea we are passionate about - relational practice and strong working relationships with children and their carers, where we have the time and space to hear children's voices and complete direct work with them.

In our CWD Team you will manage and conduct a range of assessments, plans, intervention and review the impact and progress of outcomes for children. Through the delivery of high quality practice you will ensure that children have the right support at theright time and in the right way for them and that children are protected from significant harm.
You will have knowledge of children's services legislative frameworks and legal proceedings and have the ability to make complex information accessible for every audience. You will ensure the delivery of a high quality and effective social work practiceto support, empower and promote independence, strengths and assets of both children, families and within their local communities. You will work in partnership with children, young people and parents, some of whom can be difficult to engage, to provide thepositive outcomes in line with The Deal 2030.
