The Trust is made up of the Royal School Manchester, Royal College Manchester, Residential Care Homes, Outreach Health and Family Services.

**The Seashell Trust Apprentice Scheme**

Our innovative Centre of Excellence has a range excellent opportunities for dynamic individuals to join a high performing team whilst completing your apprenticeship.

As one of our apprentices, you’ll be assigned a Mentor to support you, and our Centre of Excellence offers the chance to prepare for the world of work and develop a broader range of skills whilst completing training to a high standard with top quality providers.

You will gain valuable ‘on the job experience’ whilst completing qualifications to support your personal and professional development.

**About the role**:
We are currently recruiting Apprentice Residential Support Workers within our Centre of Excellence. You'll be working with Young Adults, between the ages of 19-25.

As an apprentice at Seashell, you’ll become part of an experienced and welcoming team and endeavour to develop warm and trusting relationships with our children and young people - no one day will be the same

Our 17 state of the art Residential Homes are currently rated ‘Good’ with OFSTED and most who reside in the homes attend our on-site specialist Royal School or Royal College.

This is an exciting opportunity to work towards developing an incredibly rewarding career path.

**What we’re looking for**:

- GCSE English and Maths grade A-C/grade 4 or above, or equivalent level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy is essential

**Training and Development**

As an apprentice at Seashell, you will spend four days per week working in your allocated department, and a minimum of one day of on-site study with the Learning and Development team, and you will achieve one of the following qualifications:

- Level 3 Adult Social Care.
- Level 4 Children, Young People and Family Practitioner.

In addition to your one day of on-site study you will be working the following shift patterns:

- Early shifts (7.30am-3pm).
- Late shifts (3pm-10pm).
- Occasional split shifts (7.30am - 9.30am then 3pm-10pm).
- Weekend shifts 2 per year.
- Nights 9:45pm - 7:45am (very occasional).

**Apprentice Role and Responsibilities**:

- Work as part of a team providing person centred care to individuals who have a wide range of physical and learning disabilities including children and young adults with profound, multiple learning disabilities and complex health needs.
- Support children and young adults attending to their individual needs, preferences and wellbeing.
- Ensure that all actions and decisions take consideration of the impact on our children, young people and families in accordance with Seashell Trust’s Core Values.
- Acting as a role model for colleagues in terms of standards of behaviour, professional expertise, and integrity.
- Assisting with daily routines including personal care, eating and drinking, mobility needs and supporting with access to social and community activities.
- Assist with infection prevention and control policy and procedures.
- Undertake domestic duties such as cooking and cleaning to ensure high standards are maintained and compliance with health and safety and risk assessments are met.
