**Job Title: Assistant Buyer (12 months contract)**

**Location**:Horncastle

**Job Type**:Full-time Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 4pm

**Start date**: Ideally 02/10/2023

**Salary**:Salary dependent on experience

**Role purpose**
- As Assistant Buyer you will be supporting the Head of Operations assisting within all areas of the Purchasing department. Your main duties will be focused on allocating sales orders using Wintree Software (full training will be provided) from our companies own stock and that from third party suppliers. You will engage in supplier negotiations to maximise profit margins and raise purchase orders in a timely manner. You will be responsible for Booking in inbound stock onto Wintree, ensuring Customs clearance and Notifying the Plant Heath Authorities of inbound consignments from the EU and checking off supplier invoices._

Basic understanding of the functionality of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and operating systems.

An enquiring mind that seeks solutions to problems using own initiative.

Analytical, with excellent attention to detail.

Well organised, with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude.

Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own workload.

Interested in learning and self-development.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

**Assistant Buyer Requirements and Skills**

We are looking for some with:

- Relevant experience in a buying/ administrative role within an office environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- The ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and operating systems.
- An understanding of the need to complete work in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
- Own Initiative, who is motivated, and team driven with a good financial understanding.
