**Must be HCPC registered, preferably with minimum of 5 years post qualified experience in Neurological Care.**

**Job Purpose**:To undertake a team leader role on a day-to-day basis, managing the occupational therapy staff - occupational therapists and occupational therapy assistants to provide direct Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and management of service users residing at and Outpatients coming to the MNCC Neurological Care Centre (MNCC).

**Job Summary**:
1. To work with the Director of Therapy in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the service provided to residents at the MNCC, participating in the design and implementation of occupational therapy audits and policies.

2. To have a good knowledge of all residents in order to identify pathway movements and lead on Bungalows / transition service.

3. To develop and lead the transition and pre discharge service.

4. To undertake occupational therapy assessment and design management programmes for adults presenting with neurological complex, acute and chronic, conditions, and maintaining records, as an autonomous practitioner.

5. To act as a source of expertise on the occupational therapy management of adults with neurological conditions, providing advice to all other internal departments, residents, HCAs, all grades of occupational therapists, other therapy discipline team members in the Department, Orthotics Services, General Practitioner, Neurological Consultant, and Social Services.

6. To educate and train junior and senior occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, other healthcare professionals and occupational therapy students in the occupational therapy management of adults with neurological conditions.

7. To positively promote the MNCC’s values of Trust, Respect, Hope, Dignity and Excellence in your day-to-day work ensuring, service users receive holistic, person-centred care.
