The Trent Cardiac Centre at the Nottingham University Hospitals Trust City Campus is a purpose built facility that provides a comprehensive range of adult elective and emergency cardiac procedures of varying complexity.

Clinical Perfusion is a highly skilled scientific profession within the field of cardiac surgery. The Clinical Perfusion Scientists operates and manages essential life support systems for patients undergoing routine and emergency cardiac surgery.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate to train as Clinical Perfusion Scientist. Applicants will be required to have achieved a relevant scientific based degree with honours in in a field that will meet the criteria to be eligible for admittance on to the Masters of Science program in Perfusion Sciences at Bristol University.

You should be able to demonstrate good communication skills, be able to prioritise in order to meet deadlines and possess the skills to work within a multi-disciplinary team, sometimes under difficult and highly stressful situations.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Clinical training will be undertaken at the Trent Cardiac Centre and academic teaching will be provided by Bristol University consisting of block release and distant learning elements. The training requirement is for a minimum of two years on a fixed term contract ultimately leading to the Accreditation Certificate issued by the Society of Clinical Perfusion Scientists of Great Britain and Ireland. Successful applicants must be available to begin training in September 2023.

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
