**About Our Client**:
PageGroup have partnered with a Not for Profit organisation in Newcastle (NE1) with a permanent opportunity to join as a Buyer. This role offers hybrid working, a competitive salary as well as long-term development opportunities

Responsible for providing a professional, customer-focused and effective buying service ensuring that relevant Financial Regulations are adhered to.

To support a fast-paced and busy working environment as part of the wider Procurement team you will have the ability to work well with others, and to plan and prioritise your own work. You will also be able to effectively work in finance systems, interact with IT, Legal and other Services who have a role in the procurement process, analyse data and maintain appropriate digital records which relate to activities undertaken.

This role requires high attention to detail and working with colleagues, supporting their requirements while remaining complaint with all relevant policies.

The Buyer will be responsible for:

- Facilitate the purchasing process from receipt of requirements to placement of the purchase order ensuring that all relevant approvals are in place
- Run regular and ad hoc contract renewals reports, coordinate the renewal of small contracts with the relevant service owners in Faculty/ Service
- Support the Category Managers and Category Specialists in running the Supplier Relationship Management processes for their selected contracts by running reports, providing data and populating performance dashboards
- Contribute to the Finance Strategy, by organising, planning and prioritising own work activities.
- Proactively seek feedback; leading and contributing to the continual review of processes, procedures, and practices within own area of responsibility to ensure that the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders are met.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as required

**The Successful Applicant**:
The successful Buyer will have:

- Some experience in Procurement/ Purchasing or Supply Chain would be beneficial
- Strong IT skills and knowledge
- Experience with dealing with Suppliers
- Negotiation Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Willingness to learn
- Started or working toward CIPS Qualification would be advantageous
