Central England Forest District is the management unit of Forestry England responsible for the sustainable management of the public forest estate in the East & West Midlands and surrounding areas in England.

The public forest estate includes a diverse range of built property, including several houses, forest office and depot facilities, and visitor buildings such as toilets and cafes. Also, part of the estate are a number of agricultural holdings, telecommunication masts and grazing paddocks. The remoteness and diversity of the property portfolio brings a level of complexity and interest to the work undertaken by the Estates team.
- **Job description**_

We are looking for an Administration Officer to provide an efficient financial and administrative support service for the busy Estates team based at Sherwood Pines, which provides assistance to the wider locally based forestry and recreation teams and national colleagues whilst dealing with enquiries from tenants, contractors and external stakeholders.

Based at our Sherwood Pines Office, near Edwinstowe, Mansfield, you will work in a team of eight who encompass the estates team for the Central District. In addition you will be liaising regularly with colleagues in the wider District and beyond.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Providing general administrative support to the estates team e.g. filing, letter writing, preparation of agreements, data management, copying and general office administrative duties.
- Play an important part in supporting estates income generation and expenditure by managing the finance transaction processing, which will include extensive use of the in house eFin financial system and an understanding of the Collaborative Planning financial management system and widespread use and knowledge of spreadsheets.
- Understanding the basics of estate management terminology and the legal background to agreements and processes relating to estates documents to enable ability to liaise with colleagues and customers regarding queries relating to agreements and leases, general land enquiries, invoice processing and payments.
- Provide essential support and oversight to ensure that legal obligations are met, invoices are received and processed in a timely way, rents are received and paid on time.
- The post holder plays a key part in maintaining and updating the estates terrier system now hosted on the GIS Forester Web system and helping to ensure that rent reviews and lease renewals are dealt with in a timely manner and that property records are kept up to date.
- **Essential Criteria**:_
- Min grade 5 GCSE (or equivalent qualification) in Maths and English.
- Experience of working with financial systems and information including: quickly adapting to new systems, becoming highly competent in their use and willingness to share this knowledge with colleagues.
- Working to a high level of numeracy and accuracy.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment to strict deadlines and carrying out general Administrative tasks
- **Desirable**_:

- Experience of using GIS (Geographic Information System)
- Proven working experience in either a legal or estates based environment.
