Finance & Controlling Supervisor (Management

Reporting to the Finance & Controlling Manager, you will:
- Manage the sales and purchase ledgers, ensuring all transactions are entered accurately and timely, manage any queries raised within short time frames and ensure overdue debts are chased and balances bought current.
- Reconcile the banks, loading payments and creating direct debit collections.
- Ensure all accounts transactions are loaded into the accounting software.
- Prepare and post month end journals including but not limited to: accruals, prepayments and deferred income.
- Prepare central sales reports transactions and load into the accounting software so revenues and store invoices are loaded and sent out to the franchisees.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts, investigating any discrepancies and creating postings to ensure the P&L is accurate and complete.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring any differences are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Load company staff expenses in the accounts system and set up payment monthly.
- Supervise Finance & Controlling specialist ensuring transactions posted are timely and accurate.
- Review and approve monthly sales submissions from the stores, ensuring that this is completed according to the criteria set to them, dealing with any queries that may arise each month and offering support.
- Any other ad hoc work as required by the Finance & Controlling manager which could involve additional reporting as required by the business.
- Assist with the company and group audit where required including but not limited to preparing schedules, providing supporting backup for transactions and responding to queries on the accounting.
- Prepare the quarterly VAT submission.
You will undertake other Finance activities as directed by the Finance & Controlling Manager and we reserve the right to vary or amend your duties and responsibilities at any time according to the needs of our business.
**Person Specification**:
You will be a highly focused individual, a team player, willing to take initiative, able to prioritise your workload and able to work unsupervised. You will have excellent written and spoken English, as well as negotiation and interpersonal skills and be able to liaise with colleagues in other departments, and external contacts such as franchisees, customers and suppliers, with guidance from the Finance & Controlling Manager.
You will have strong excel skills including the ability to analyse data using pivot tables, be conversant with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Professional.
You will hold a recognised Accounting or related qualification, with a minimum of 3 years experience and be able to demonstrate significant relevant expertise. Ideally working towards professional accreditation (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).
This is a 60:40 office/home hybrid working role. However you must be able to commute daily, or as required, to our offices located in Accrington.
**Salary**: £30,000.00 per year
