Chances Mentoring is a sport’s based alternate provision that pride itself In having high level of success in re-engaging students back into education or post-16. We aim to mentor students to achieve their best by identifying what the barriers to learning are.

Children attend us on a part time timetable and are still on role at the school. Chances Mentoring works in collaboration with the school to ensure each child develops and makes progress.

We work with children across SEND, SEMH and behavioural from mainstream schools, Specialist schools and PRU’s. Meaning the children that attend need additional support and will require challenging, consistency, fairness and understanding.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support students and families in an alternate provision setting, focusing on those with SEND needs, behaviours, and in-care backgrounds.
- Set and maintain high expectations, inspiring students to love learning through mentoring support.
- Challenge young people to effectively engage with their learning, aligning with the Chances Mentoring ethos.
- Contribute to the development of the provision as it grows, playing a vital role in its year-on-year expansion.
- Using your own car transport students to and from the provision, following the attendance, Lone working and car policy.
- Support students in the classroom while doing education.
- Support students in the wider curriculum work.
- Complete the daily paperwork to a high standard.
- Have high standards of time keeping.
- Learn and answer to senior managers and other team members.

**Requirements**:

- Willingness to develop and support children in diverse situations.
- Adaptability in fast-changing environments.
- Calm and focused demeanour, especially in challenging situations.
- Understanding that each child is individual, requiring tailored support.
- Ability to drive and transport children.
- Ability to challenge students that show negative behaviours.
- Full driving licence.
- Business insurance (can be sought on acceptance of the role)

**Work Details**:

- Full-time position across 5 days a week.
- Involves morning and afternoon transportation of children, including activities during the day.
- £23,400 per annum (actual salary) inclusive of milage allowance.
