We currently have an amazing opportunity here at our Witton, Birmingham Plant at Timet for a **Payroll and Finance Admin Clerk**.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the processing of monthly payroll and other non-payroll finance tasks.

**Essential functions**:
**Payroll tasks -**
- Input monthly payments and deductions including new starters, leavers change in pay and ad-hoc payments.
- Prepare manual statutory pay including SMP, SPP & SSP.
- Support the monthly payroll process from end to end for around 600 employees.
- Download BACS and submission.
- Prepare payroll reports including Pension contributions, third party payments and other payment and deduction reports.
- Download childcare voucher schedules, amend deductions accordingly and prepare payment sheets. Complete earning assessments for new employee’s joining the scheme.
- Deal with payroll queries and solve payment issues as directed by the Payroll Manager.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports to Finance and HR departments.
- Prepare month end reports and journals.
- Manage E-payslips updates and availability.
- RTI submission to HMRC.
- Ad hoc admin tasks.

**Finance tasks -**

The examples below are types of support that will be expected to be provided to other finance functions.
- Maintaining and updating vendor master records in SAP.
- Submission of National Statistics data as required by the finance manager and the financial controller.
- Support the monthly close process and any ad hoc requirements relating to that.

**Education/ Qualifications/ Experience**:

- A willingness to undertake formal payroll qualifications.
- Knowledge about payroll related laws and legislation.
- Knowledge and experience in SAP payroll is not essential but would be an **advantageous**.
- Used to working in fast paced environment and a matrix organisation.

**Behavioural Competencies**:

- A positive CAN-DO attitude.
- Strong sense of urgency.
- Will demonstrate first class communication skills.
- Will have the ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
- A dynamic individual with good organisation and influential interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility

**Technical Competencies**:

- PC literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of latest Tax, National Insurance and Pensions legislation.
