- We are seeking to appoint a SHEQ Officer who shall oversee the companies Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality objectives. The role of the SHEQ Officer will be to support, assist, and implement new and existing compliance requirements within the business. The role will have a strong focus on implementing Health,Safety, Quality and Environmental improvements throughout the business.- This is an exciting role for an early stage SHEQ professional to take the lead, working alongside an ambitious scale up organisation to ensure the highest levels of SHEQ compliance and innovation.**Main Responsibilities**
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSEQ policies, procedures, and programs in line with relevant UK regulations and industry best practices.
- Monitor and analyse HSEQ performance metrics, contributing to regular reports and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of HSEQ activities, reports, and documentation.
- Conduct site visits to project locations to assess specific risks, hazards, and environmental factors
- Regularly update and maintain project Health & Safety Files, CPPs, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with evolving regulations and project changes.
- Identify potential health, safety, environmental, and quality risks associated with the project and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Driving improvements in Health and Safety KPIs and Occupational health monitoring results.
- Working with Departmental Managers to ensure thorough risk assessments, reporting of near misses & adverse events and thorough investigations are completed in a timely manner.
- Working with departmental managers to implement corrective actions and improvement plans triggered by adverse events, near misses and other incidents, risk assessments, audit, and inspection findings, etc.
- Designing and rolling out toolbox talks to educate team members on H&S responsibilities.
- Determining health and safety training requirements and initiating roll out.
- Working with the engineering department to ensure that equipment is maintained to a safe standard.
- Working with engineering department to ensure that the contractor management system is kept up to date and all contractors are competent and compliant to ensure any contracted work is done safely and meets regulatory requirements.
- Conducting, designing, and reviewing health and safety audits and inspections
- Supporting SHEQ operations through administration and assisting in the implementation of key management system processes including:

- Ensuring compliance status of controlled systems such as calibrations, document control, third party management through managing compliance databases and systems
- Scanning, filing, and auditing of key quality control documents
- Ensuring customer and third-party facing areas are presentable, compliant, and safe
- Design, collation, analysis and reporting of environmental metrics in accordance with ESOS, SECR regulations.
- The list is not exhaustive but provides a good indication of the tasks and responsibilities of the role**Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience**
- Nebosh General certificate/ Diploma
- Working knowledge of incident investigation and risk assessment processes.
- Experience in environmental reporting, Scopes 1,2 & 3
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain thorough documentation.
- Proficiency in using project management software and tools for documentation and reporting purposes
- Working knowledge and experience of ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards.
- Clean Current UK Driving Licence
- Desirable Criteria- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management) preferred but not essential.
- Nebosh Environmental
- Nebosh Fire Safety Certificate
- Previous experience in a similar HSEQ role
