Our West Malling office is dedicated to Client Accounting, comprising three services: Rates Payment Managements Services (RPMS), Corporate Property Management Finance (CPMF) and Investment Property Management Finance (IPMF).

**Job Description**:
We are now looking to recruit strong individual for an Account Assistant within the RPMS team ensuring payments are made efficiently and accurately correctly.

Main responsibilities
Dealing with the processing of business rates demands for our entire client base into our bespoke software.
Verifying that the balance charged matches the expected value
Resolving queries with councils resulting from discrepancies
Actively chasing monies due back to clients from councils
Reconciling refunds received against payments made
Ensuring that clients only pay the balances due to be paid on a just in time basis.

About you
Well organised, methodical and conscientious; capable of using initiative and common sense
Experience within a similar accounts/finance role, either as Accounts Assistant or working in Accounts Payable
A total commitment to client service
Must be numerate and have an eye for detail
Ability to work with large volumes, and working to deadlines.
Good communication skills, both in writing and on the telephone - this is particularly important when dealing with clients
Experience of using computer-based accounting systems
Good spreadsheet (Excel) and IT skills
Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
Knowledge of Business Rates an advantage, a willingness to learn is essential
