Cleaner (Part-time)

**Job Title: Cleaner - Ashington**

**Actual Salary**:£10.90 per hour

**Hours**:8 hours per week - (4 hours at Ashington Registry Office, 4 hours at Ashington Hub, Jubilee Industrial Estate)
**All 8 hours can be applied for, or 4 hours at each site independently.**

**Responsible to**:Facilities Manager

**Role Purpose**:To ensure that the charity’s office accommodation and outside areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Offices, interview rooms and waiting area**
- Clean / dust surfaces including paintwork.
- Vacuum carpets.
- Brush and mop hard floors.
- Empty and replace bins.

**Kitchen & Toilets**
- Clean / dust surfaces including paintwork.
- Vacuum carpets.
- Brush and mop hard floors.
- Clean sinks, taps, draining boards and basins.
- Clean toilets.
- Empty and replace bins.

**Stairs and corridors**
- Clean / dust surfaces including paintwork.
- Vacuum carpets.
- Brush and mop hard floors.

**Outside areas**
- Keep outside areas tidy and free from rubbish.

**Maintain cleaning stock**
- Re-fill paper towel, soap, and toilet paper dispensers.
- Notify the Facilities Manager when cleaning materials need to be ordered.

**Other duties**
- Lock/unlock the building securely.
- Notify the Facilities Manager of any need for repairs.
- Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues.
- Undertake training as and when required that is relevant to the role.
- Adhere to the organisation's confidentiality and information assurance policies and procedures and report any breaches or incidents of non-compliance.
- Undertake any other duties that are consistent with the level of the post.

**Person Specification**

**Requirements**:
Previous experience of cleaning in an office or similar environment (desirable)

The ability to carry out general cleaning duties as detailed in the Job Description.

The ability to communicate clearly, understand and follow instructions.

The ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively.

The ability to work within the organisation’s confidentiality policies.

The ability to work with minimum supervision.

Comfortable with lone working outside of normal office hours.
