**We are currently recruiting for a Contracts & Procurement Officer in Bury.**

**Pay rate**:£17.12 per hour.

**Contract duration**:Temporary ongoing.

**Purpose**:
The Contracts and Procurement Officer has a key role to play in ensuring the client undertakes robust commissioning activity, evidences transparency, value for money and commissions high quality services on behalf of the citizens of Bury.

**Duties**:

- Contribute to the development of a robust commissioning culture within the department.
- Commission services based on data analysis, customer feedback, evaluation, market analysis.
- Develop service specifications, tender documentation, and issue contracts.
- Develop services to provide high quality and value for money.
- Negotiate fee uplifts and individual care package costs.
- Provide advice and support to Officers and Providers.
- Manage and develop the provider market.
- Develop positive relationships with providers and colleagues.
- Undertake contract monitoring of providers to ensure compliance and the outcomes are met.

**Experience**:

- Contracting and commissioning, ideally with a Local Authority background and children's social care.
- Developing and monitoring outcome based contracts and specifications.
- Procuring services for customers with a defined social care need.
- Building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of people including customers, relatives, carers, providers, and regulators.
- Track record of successfully negotiating contracts.
