Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Deli Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers in the deli section of our supermarket, providing excellent service while preparing and serving a variety of food items. This is a dynamic role that requires a combination of food service skills, attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist customers with their deli orders, including coffee, sandwiches, antipasti, meze, and other deli items.
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches, salads, and other food items according to customer preferences and company standards.
- Operate deli equipment, such as coffee machines, sandwich presses, and food warmers, ensuring safe and proper use.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the deli area, including food display cases, countertops, and equipment.
- Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed to maintain freshness and quality.
- Stock and replenish deli products, rotating inventory to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Provide friendly and knowledgeable service to customers, answering questions and making recommendations as needed.
- Assist with other tasks as assigned by management to support the overall operation of the supermarket.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a supermarket, restaurant, or fast food environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads as needed.

Contract length: 6-12 months

Pay: £10.50-£12.76 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 46 per week
