**If the answer is yes, we have the opportunity for you working in the Crofting Commission directorate at the Scottish Government.**
The Crofting Commission is a Non-Departmental Public Body led by a Board of 9 Commissioners and consisting of approximately 70 officials responsible for the regulation of crofting and maintaining the Register of Crofts. Crofting is a traditional system of smallholdings unique to certain areas of Scotland, particularly the Highlands and Islands which brings a range of benefits including helping sustain rural communities, supporting biodiversity, and low intensity, small scale food production. Crofting is underpinned by the Crofters (Scotland) Act 1993 and the Crofting Reform Scotland (2010) Act. These Acts give rights to crofters and protect crofting land for the future, in which the Crofting Commission has a pivotal role as the sole Regulatory body.
**Responsibilities**:
- Place regulatory newspaper adverts, on a weekly basis, for the newspapers assigned and make checks to ensure adverts are accurately included in the relevant publication.

**Essential Criteria**:
1. Confident using and learning IT/online programs such as Microsoft products.
2. Ability to work quickly whilst maintaining a good standard of work.
3. Strong organisation skills and ability to handle competing priorities.
4. Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate well in situations such as working as part of a team or dealing with customers.
