**Due to continued success and future business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join our team based at our North Yorkshire Head office in Wetherby.**

**The Role**

As our Assistant Buyer, you will provide assistance to the Chief Buyer in the scheduling, purchasing and management of materials for our current developments.

**Key duties and requirements**

You will also be responsible for but not limited to;
- Providing support to the commercial function ensuring effective compliance and control in relation to the buying of materials and the hire of plant.
- Assisting in the management of supply chain partners.
- Ensuring that communication between all sites and suppliers is maintained to a high level.
- Raising orders.
- Ensuring that all material orders are scheduled, placed and delivered in a timely manner to enable and support the regional build programme.
- Assisting in the stock taking of materials.
- Assisting in the authorising and committing of expenditure.
- Assisting in the preparation of cost analysis reports across our developments.

**Who are we looking for?**

To be successful as our Assistant Buyer you will currently be working as a Junior or Assistant Buyer or Buyer for a housebuilder, main contractor, or builders’ merchant.

Experience of the COINS ERP system is highly desirable, yet not essential.

To be considered for this role you must also possess;
- Knowledge of the procurement of materials
- A full UK driving licence
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
- Experience of COINS - highly desirable
- A good level of commercial awareness
- Ability to work under own initiative and manage time effectively
- Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills
