Advanced Critical Care Practitioner/ Trainee Accp

Undertake an extensive assessment of the critically ill patient, including taking a history and completing a clinical examination. Perform or order diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/investigations. Recognise which medications are required in a range of physiological abnormalities within the critical care sphere, and to be able to seek and justify their prescription appropriately. Prescribe and administer a range of medication working within your boundaries of clinical knowledge.
To review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs in accordance with evidence-based practice, national guidance and protocols in order to optimise patient treatment. Initiate and manage clinical treatment plans. Perform invasive procedures, advanced airway skills, vascular access and other practical skills within the level of clinical competence. To work competently in the role as an Cardiac Advanced Critical Care Practitioner, being aware of boundaries of the role, referring patients appropriately to other healthcare professionals as required.
Teach and educate members of the multi-professional team.
