**Job overview**:
**The Hospital at Night Team at Salford Royal consists of Site Coordinators, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Healthcare Assistant Team who work closely throughout the night alongside the medical and surgical teams.**

**We are looking for highly motivated Healthcare assistants to join our friendly and supportive team to deliver high standards of care during the out of hours period.**

**The job is challenging, and teamwork and flexibility is essential. Excellent communication skills are required as well as a passion to support ward teams in ensuring that timely patient focused care can be delivered in **safe and compassionate manner.**

**Main duties of the job**:

- Assisting medical and nursing staff in a range of patient care duties mainly venepuncture, cannulation, blood cultures, venous blood gas sampling, completion of ECGs and clinical observations.
- **You will establish and maintain effective communication with individuals and groups.**:

- **Participate in the promotion of safety, well-being and interest of patients, staff and visitors to the clinical area.**:

- **Contribute to the development of the service.**

- Evidence of working as a Care Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant in a Health and Social Care Setting

- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience) in Health
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Math’s Grade D-G)
- Competency in venepuncture and cannulation.

- Additional clinical skills of obtaining blood cultures, ECGs, venous blood gas sampling would be of benefit although not essential as training would be provided.
